Dr Mike Freelander MP held the 2018 Macarthur Student Leadership Forum with school captains of the Macarthur electorate, coinciding with NSW Youth Week celebrations.

Youth Week is an opportunity for young people to express their ideas and views, act on issues that affect their lives, and create and enjoy activities and events. As such, The Macarthur Student Leadership Forum was an opportunity for student advocates to meet and discuss what is important to leaders, their school communities and the greater electorate of Macarthur.

Over 30 local school captains and student representatives met with Dr Freelander to discuss the achievements and goals of local school communities, what assistance the Macarthur community could provide to young people and how Dr Freelander could facilitate the growth of local student leaders.

Quotes attributable to the Hon. Dr Mike Freelander MP:

“The student leader’s forum was not only a great opportunity for me to meet local school captains, but also for captains to network between themselves. The stronger our community ties, the better our schools and young people will be.”

“It was an honour to discuss what truly matters to our young people and learn of their amazing achievements and future ambitions. I thank our student advocates for entrusting me with their vision of our area.”

“You would be hard pressed to find a lovelier and more perceptive group of young people. I have no doubt that our region will be in great hands in the future.”
