NSW Liberals Leave South West Sydney Behind - No Commitment to a Rail Line to Badgery's Creek

28 February 2017

Yesterday the NSW transport Minister Andrew Constance spilled the beans and made it quite clear that the Coalition does not see transport infrastructure in South West Sydney as a priority.

The NSW Government is yet to commit any funds for a rail line to Badgerys Creek Airport and Minister Constance has stated the train line will be “many years off”.

He clearly does not understand the importance of proper public transport links to the new Badgerys Creek Airport and the importance of a rail link from Macarthur to the North.

Dr Mike Freelander has said
“To anyone living in south west Sydney and in particularly the Macarthur electorate this is a devastating and bewildering pronouncement.”

“Federal Labor is committed to providing a rail link to the new airport as well as ensuring the north-south link.”

Greg Warren said…

“We encourage Mr Constance to come out to South West Sydney to meet with us and local people and show him the importance of proper transport infrastructure I Sydney’s most rapidly developing area.” said Dr Mike Freelander
