Today, Dr Mike Freelander MP, Federal Member for Macarthur, welcomed the Hon. Anthony Albanese MP, Prime Minister of Australia, to Macarthur to meet with a local manufacturer and workers.

Dr Freelander invited the Prime Minister to Ingleburn to open DECO Australia’s newly constructed Innovation Centre & Testing Laboratory.

The Prime Minister has visited DECO in the past and was elated to be invited to meet with Ross Doonan, founder and CEO of DECO Australia, and the DECO workforce for this momentous occasion.

With over 200 guests and workers in attendance, the visit came at the end of a busy week for the Prime Minister and Dr Freelander, with the Federal Budget being unveiled on Tuesday evening.

The Prime Minister and Dr Freelander are passionate believers in Australian manufacturing and DECO’s work of employing over 100 Australian workers, many of whom are local to Macarthur, which is important for our national economy and skilled workforce.

DECO was established by Ross Doonan in 2004 and is a family operated business based in Macarthur that specialises in advanced metal finishing technologies and innovative architectural products for the building industry.

Joining the Prime Minister and Dr Freelander was the Mayor of Campbelltown, Councillor George Greiss and the Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong MP, State Member for Macquarie Fields and Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology.

Dr Freelander and the Prime Minister will continue to advocate for all Australians and continue supporting the workers, manufacturers and businesses of Macarthur and Australia.
