The Albanese and Minns Labor Governments are making it safer for road users in Macarthur thanks to an investment in road safety upgrades at Macarthur Station on Menangle Road.
Pedestrian fencing will be installed, and bicycle line marking will be implemented, which will improve road safety for pedestrians and bicycle riders.
The project is jointly funded through $81 million from the Road Safety Program which is delivering road safety upgrades across New South Wales.
The Albanese Government is committed to working with the States and Territories to improve road safety.
The Australian Government has substantially increased Black Spot Program funding, which, since July 1, is progressively increasing from $110 to $150 million per year.
Further, the Roads to Recovery funding has already risen to $650 million this year up from $500 million last year, and will continue to rise to $1 billion by 2027-28 per year onwards.
This is part of the Government’s response to the road toll which includes delivering a nationally harmonised set of high-quality and timely data to inform road safety decision making.
